Surface drilling
The highlight of our surface drilling rig offering at bauma is the Pantera™ DP1510i, launching the updated DPi series. This rig family is the market leader of production drilling in open pit mines, particularly gold mines, in the 89.9 mm (3.5 in.) to 178 mm (7.0 in.) hole size range. In this comprehensive update, the components in the Pantera™ DPi family have been redesigned for higher availability and lower downtime. They offer a more powerful family of rock drills with new rock tools, higher fuel efficiency, and expanded digital tools, among other upgrades.
The Ranger™ DXi family, on the other hand, are the most versatile drilling rig for various applications, from civil construction to quarrying and mining, thanks to its revolving superstructure. The Ranger™ DX810i we are presenting is a state-of-the-art drilling system optimized with powerful RD900 series rock drill and unique, curved thread system CT rock tools to match the required hole size, rock hardness and ground conditions.
In addition to these top-of-the-line drill rigs, Sandvik will be previewing a Commando-series electric conversion, the DC310RiE prototype. Within the next couple of years, this prototype will result in Sandvik's first commercial electric surface drilling rig that combines the sustainability of the electric engine and the known flexibility of the Commando product family.
