Dannemora Mineral signs contract with Sandvik for mobile mining equipment to Dannemora iron ore mine

Dannemora Mineral AB and Sandvik Mining and Construction Sverige AB have signed a contract for delivery of mobile mining equipment at a value of approx. SEK70 million.

The equipment is for Dannemora's new iron ore mine, which has a planned start of production in the second quarter of 2012. Deliveries of the machines will start from the planned start of production. Apart from the machines Sandvik will also be responsible for regular maintenance and service of the machinery.

"Sandvik's offering and experience is well suited for the production in Dannemora. The reopening of the mine in Dannemora is a milestone in Swedish mining industry and will hopefully lead to a new era for Bergslagen as an important mining region in Sweden. It is also great to get yet another mine with large scale production locally", says Lars Josefsson, President, Sandvik Mining and Construction.
