Sandvik announces the launch of its new QH331 mobile cone crusher
Based on the former QH330, the new enhanced QH331 has been designed with the most demanding aggregate producers in mind
The QH331 is one of the mobile crushers within the Sandvik Mobiles range which has gone through a redesign process following the enforcement of the combustion engine exhaust gas legislation for Europe and the U.S. in January 2011. The design changes have proved a challenge which Sandvik turned into an opportunity to provide customers with solutions with increased value.
The Sandvik QH331 track mounted cone crusher is based on its predecessor, the QH330. The customer will still benefit from the features that made the QH330 a worldwide success, such as compact design for easy transportation and on site maneuverability, Sandvik's CH430 cone crusher and hydroset system, with an automatic setting regulation system that keeps track of liner wear.
In addition, customers will now benefit from a more environmentally friendly, economical and efficient machine. The QH331 will now be fitted with a CAT C9 or C9.3 engine, which will allow the user savings on fuel. The QH331 will also now have a direct drive, which has replaced the previous hydraulic drive. This change permits the QH331 a more efficient use of power and consequently enhances its operational capabilities, such as tighter closed side settings and larger bush variations.
With safety in mind, Sandvik has equipped all standard QH331's with a camera overseeing the crushing chamber and a screen in the control cabinet. This will allow the operator a safer and more controlled operation of the crusher, whilst resulting in sustained and higher output.
The QH331 has been designed to provide customers with an even more flexible, user friendly and efficient solution. Some other operational upgrades are:
- Choice of CAT C9 (Stage 3A/Tier 3) or Cat C9.3 (Stage 3B/Tier 4i) engine, according to legislation in force at destination
- The new QH331 is capable of working in environments of up to 50°C without the need for oil changes Hydraulically driven cooling fan with auto reverse function to back flush dust from the radiator, saving operators time and effort to clean the radiators and allowing maximum uptime
- Bridge coil metal detector now also fitted over the feed conveyor for an even better and more controlled detection of tramp material
The new QH331 has been designed with the operator in mind, who needs a machine safe and easy to run and with as low and quick maintenance as possible:
- Previous rubber piping has been replaced with steel pipe work, which provides customers a safer and maintenance free sealing solution and better heat dissipation
- The cone hydroset system is now incorporated into the plant hydraulics for reduced maintenance
- Improved service access with walkways both sides of the engine compartment All engine service points are easily accessible with low level drain points
- All hydraulic valves will now be situated at ground level for ease of access
- Diesel tank and smaller hydraulic tank are easily accessible from the front platform of the machine with inspection covers
With these new enhanced features, the new Sandvik QH331 consolidates even further its position as one of the most economical, productive and user friendly mobile cone crushers in the market.
