Sandvik DH350: Simple and Smart for Top Productivity
At Bauma China 2012, Sandvik introduce a new member to their basic line products, the Sandvik DH350 down-the-hole surface drill rig. This rig is the right choice for those who look for a drill with simple and smart solutions and constant reliable operation.
The Sandvik DH350 is a diesel-powered, crawler-mounted down-the-hole drilling rig, designed for drilling with 3", 4" and 5" hammers in 89 – 152 mm (3 ½ - 6") hole range.
The DH350 features a rigid fixed boom and feed design, and efficient state-of-the art hydraulics for boom positioning, feed, rotation, tramming, and track oscillation, making the rig exceptionally accurate and productive. Operation productivity, hole accuracy and drilling smoothness are further enhanced by a heavy-duty rotary head that supplies a very high torque of 2530 Nm. Fuel costs are minimized with two separate power sources. The rig features an optimized, on-board 43 kW diesel engine for drilling and ancillary operations while an external compressor*,providing compressed air for the hammer and hole flushing, is powered by an independent engine.
Compact design, powerful tramming motors and oscillating tracks give the DH350 high gradeability and unbeatable rough terrain mobility in this class. Equipped with a primary cyclone, the rig's dry dust collector minimizes the amount of dust produced while drilling. This offers long engine life and a clear view to the drilling spot.
EASE OF DAILY OPERATION
All drilling functions in the DH350 are centralized in one control panel with convenient controls. For improved safety, a separate tramming control station is practically placed at the back of the rig, side by side with an operator transportation platform.
The DH350 features a simple structure and clear layout, making it easy to maintain. In addition, all daily service points are practically placed within easy reach from the ground level.
The DH350 is built with the best of Sandvik expertise. On top of all the advanced features, this is displayed in the good quality of the steel material and in the carefully chosen, proven components from well-known suppliers. This makes the rig reliable in operation but still with relatively low initial investment.
The main applications for the DH350 include civil engineering, aggregate, cement and limestone quarries as well as open pit mines. In the first stage, it will be available in China only.
