Sandvik Mobiles impressive offering

The National Federation of Demolition Contractors is the voice of the UK and Irish demolition industry. It aims to raise the industry's profile by focusing on continually improving all facets of demolition; the organization hence aims to benefit its members, customers, and the general public. This is achieved through training, monitoring and policing of best practices, as well as enhancing the flow of information and discussion between the demolition industry and Government, trade and technical organizations.

A key part of the NFDC's activities is its annual conference. Here delegates from throughout the industry are able to share best practices, listen to the latest thinking in the industry, and mix in an informal manner. This year's conference was no exception. Held at the renowned Slieve Donard Resort & Spa in Newcastle, Co. Down, Northern Ireland, over 200 delegates participated in a series of events from the 4th - 7th of September.

Key speakers from the mobile crushing and screening organization

As to be expected from the main sponsor of this year's convention, Sandvik Construction played a key role in the success of the conference. On the Saturday morning delegates held their annual meeting on the shop floor of Sandvik's Ballygawley factory; this was actually located in the spray shop, the home of a brand new £1.6 million powder coating plant.

Following the meeting the delegates undertook a factory tour of the Ballygawley site, during which they were able to see where, and how, the mobile crushing and screening range is manufactured. Following the factory tour the delegates were treated to a display of crushing and screening equipment, before enjoying what was acclaimed to be an "excellent" hog roast lunch.

Sandvik Construction would like to thank the NFDC and the delegates for coming to the Ballygawley factory. It is hoped that the tour and viewing of the mobile crushers and screens will show how Sandvik is at the forefront of developing products and services aimed at furthering the development of the demolition industry.
