Johannesburg seminar focuses on quarrying management processes
As part of Sandvik Construction's increasing focus on the local needs of our customers, a series of events have been arranged across the world. One such event was a quarrying seminar which was held in South Africa in November 2015.
On the 18th-19th of November 2015 a quarrying seminar was organized by Sandvik Construction in Johannesburg, South Africa. This was designed to help quarrying companies improve productivity, efficiency and safety through the sharing of our expertise and experiences.
The seminar was part of a process whereby Sandvik Construction aims to proactively assist quarrying companies improve their knowledge base, and the processes they use in order to get the most from their equipment and operations. It is our belief that knowledge is the fundamental basis for the development of new techniques and technologies involved in quarrying, and have thus invested in the sharing of this knowledge.
The topics covered during the seminar included various quarrying management and process subjects, with a specific focus on drill and blast management. They specifically consisted of:
- Quarry Management
- Quarry Processes, including drill & blast; load, haul and dump; crushing and screening
- Drilling Management
- Blast Management
The quarry seminars, of which the November one in Johannesburg is but the latest, is another customer focused solution Sandvik Construction has developed to help customers. By providing expert advice we are able to show the industry how we are able to go that little bit further in supplying equipment and services that customers need, and truly benefit from.
