New Sandvik Surface Drill Rig to be introduced at Steinexpo

The 10th Steinexpo will be held in Homberg / Nieder-Ofleiden, Germany, 30th August to the 2nd September. This demonstration-focused trade show is aimed at showing both German and international visitors some of the latest solutions in quarrying and construction. At the exhibition, Sandvik will preview its latest Surface Drill Rig, a new member of the Ranger family!

Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology has worked with drilling solutions more than 50 years. Ranger DX top hammer drill rigs with counterweight revolving superstructure and ultimate stability enable excellent drilling coverage. These features make Sandvik a pioneer in getting the job done even in the most challenging conditions with lowest production costs.

New Ranger with 55 square meters drilling coverage area equipped with most powerful new rockdrill, Sandvik style intelligence and highest fuel efficiency makes this drill rig most powerful and efficient top hammer drill rig in its class. It represents totally a new revolutionary generation of Ranger product family.

Enjoy remarkable silence in iCab cabin

Operator ergonomics and low cabin noise has been the focus areas in developing this new iCab cabin. New user interface has been developed based on experience of several customer trials. Positive feedback has been received from good ergonomics and easy to use joysticks and control panels. In the new cabin, there is also room for a trainer behind the operator seat. Thanks to long and successful co-operation with VTT, Finnish Technical Research Center, Sandvik has been able to lower the noise emission into the level never seen before in this type of drill rigs.
