Sandvik showcases expanded digital offering for underground drilling at MINExpo INTERNATIONAL® 2024
Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is showcasing several upgrades to its underground drilling digital offering this week at MINExpo INTERNATIONAL® 2024.
Sandvik will provide live demonstrations of new features for Sandvik DrillConnect mobile app, iSURE® drill and blast software and Deswik integration for production drilling.
Sandvik DrillConnect
Sandvik DrillConnect mobile application is now integrated with My Sandvik File Transfer, extending the app’s connectivity for easy up-and-down data transfer for drill plans and drilling reports.
The integration between Sandvik DrillConnect and My Sandvik File Transfer enhances the data flow between drill rigs and devices, allowing operators to download and assign drill plans and receive drilling reports back from the rig. Data transfer is possible even in environments with limited or no communication network.
This latest Sandvik DrillConnect update supports improved productivity in underground mining and tunneling operations by allowing teams to easily transfer and visualize drill plans and reports, supporting personnel working both underground and at the office.
The app’s full capabilities can be found here.
iSURE® 9.0
Sandvik’s iSURE® 9.0 (Intelligent Sandvik Underground Rock Excavation) software assists operations to optimize their drill and blast cycle. Combined with Sandvik intelligent underground drills, it improves accuracy, productivity and user experience in underground drilling operations, making them more cost-effective.
iSURE® 9.0 now extends its capabilities to production drilling and mining applications, enabling better data utilization, improved reporting capabilities and structural analysis through Measure While Drilling. iSURE for production drilling offers an upgraded interface and the possibility to upload plans from third party systems such as Deswik. As-drilled data can be compared to the drill plan to generate productivity reports and 3D views to create geological mapping.
Additionally, Sandvik’s iSURE® 9.0 now has a single-tier license that includes all available features. iSURE® 9.0 also features optional toolsets for geological analysis (GeoSURE), a tunnel profile 3D scanning system (iScan) and an interface to a third party blasting vibration feedback system. The software is now also available in Swedish, along with the previously available languages (English, Japanese, Spanish, Russian, Finnish, Chinese, Norwegian and Portuguese).
The full list of iSURE® version 9.0 features can be seen here.
Deswik integration for production drilling
Sandvik will introduce a new compatibility between Deswik Underground Drill & Blast (UGDB) software, and Sandvik DL422i, Sandvik DL422iE and Sandvik DL432i production drills.
With the integration, drill plans can be transferred automatically from Deswik to the drill rig via two options, depending on the network availability. With good network coverage, drill plans can be automatically transferred from the Deswik UGDB interface in the office, to the drill rig’s control system. In cases of poor network coverage underground, drill plans can be transferred from Deswik UGDB to the drill rig, via Sandvik DrillConnect app, using My Sandvik File Transfer. Using Sandvik DrillConnect allows for rig data collection and visualization on the Sandvik DrillConnect screen.
The digital offering upgrades are on display this week at MINExpo INTERNATIONAL® 2024 in Las Vegas at Sandvik’s exhibit at Central Hall 3, booth #7415. Sandvik’s underground drilling product experts will be on hand to provide more information about the products and their usage.
