Centrevo™ Drill application

Improve your rock tools performance with our Centrevo™ Drill application.

The Drill training package consists of three parts: theory, simulators and results. First, an application specialist will go through the theory behind drilling and correct practices to maximize productivity. Throughout the training, the participants will apply the theory in the simulator app (used on mobile devices) to get a good understanding of how drilling parameters and various rock conditions will impact the tool life and drilling performance. Finally, all simulations get a cost-per-meter result allowing the participants to see how their score improves during the training and how correct drilling practices impact their performance as a driller. It also adds a competitive aspect to the training making it more interactive and fun.

There are two different versions of Drill:

  • classroom training using mobile devices, typically tablets;
  • remote training via a video conferencing system on the device of your choice, laptops are typically recommended.

Classroom training

The onsite training is a 3-hour module designed to be mobile and used in and around our customers operations. All session results are stored and recorded, and reports are presented to the customer after each session. These reports highlight cost per meter savings and productivity gains achieved through correct operator settings.

Remote training

In short, the Sandvik trainer interacts with participants via a Teams meeting and conducts the simulations via a web application with an easy and secure setup. Same as for the classroom training, there are also clear supporting training presentations available.

Trainings for different applications

These digital offerings are available for top hammer (TH), down-the-hole (DTH) and rotary drilling. It is a practical customer training that demonstrates the operational impact on rock tools service life and performance, when using the correct settings.
  • Top hammer simulator training

    • For face drilling and extension drilling applications
    • Rate of penetration is measured in m/min
    • 5 levels of geology
    • Product failure modes
    • Reports generated in cost/meter.
    • Replay training rounds from the admin device
  • Down-the-hole simulator training

    • 5 levels of geology
    • Product failure modes
    • Reports generated in cost/meter
    • Replay training rounds from the admin device
  • Rotary simulator training

    • 5 levels of geology
    • Product failure modes
    • Reports generated in cost/meter
    • Replay training rounds from the admin device

Drill effectively showcases how rock tool performance can be enhanced through classroom or remote training. Customers coached with this solution gain a deeper understanding of how different practices and drilling conditions impact productivity and drilling costs.
