Join Sandvik at the MassMin 2024 conference in Kiruna
The conference promises insightful discussions, groundbreaking insights, and networking opportunities. Kiruna, Sweden, will host this year’s MassMin mining conference, which kicks off with workshops and events on September 15.
The conference, featuring 130 articles from eighteen countries, will take place from September 17-19, with workshops and other events starting on September 15. Organized by LKAB and co-hosted by Luleå University of Technology, MassMin 2024 offers an opportunity to engage with global experts at the forefront of sustainable mining.
MassMin, held every four years in different locations, will take place in Kiruna, Sweden, home to the world’s largest underground iron ore mine. Sandvik, a sponsor and exhibitor, will take part in the conference program with presentations. Sandvik are teaming up with customers to share experiences from the first battery electric vehicle (BEV) deployments in the Swedish mining industry. Their knowledge and performance results provide valuable lessons for mining operators considering a shift to BEV technology for a more sustainable and energy-efficient future.
Mining has traditionally been a male-dominated industry, and “Leading Women in Mining” addresses the current situation in one of MassMin’s keynote presentations. Karin Bååthe, Regional CEO for EMEA in the Ground Support division at Sandvik, will present on September 17. She oversees four production sites across Europe and South Africa, managing sales in Europe, Africa, India, and the Middle East. With her many years of experience in mining, Bååthe shares insights into the industry and the role of women in leadership.
The conference will highlight key areas of mass mining such as operations, planning, research, and technology development. Connect with Sandvik’s team of experts to explore the latest trends and Sandvik’s role in developing cutting-edge machinery and technologies for the future of mining.
